What’s up, everybody? Today, we’re going to talk about the best budget revolvers. We’ll be going over the following five: the Ruger LCR, Charter Arms Mag Pug Standard, Smith & Wesson Airweight 38 S&W, the M&P Bodyguard 38, and the Heritage Rough Rider.

I want to say that revolvers may be ideal for concealed carry. Some of them are small enough for that purpose. Others not so much.

But I will say that if you have a large enough revolver, you can use it for home defense. On top of that, you can also use it for hunting varmint and also target shooting.

With that said, let’s dive right into the list of best budget revolvers so you can find one of your own without breaking the bank.

Ruger LCR

Ruger LCR Revolver
  • Brand: Ruger
  • Caliber: 38 Spl +P
  • Magazine Capacity: 5
  • Barrel Length: 1.87″
  • Overall Length: 6.50″
  • Weight: 13.5 oz.

Our first choice is the Ruger LCR. It’s lightweight and compact, hence the name LCR. It is chambered in .38 special rounds and is made from durable materials such as polymer, making it tough as nails. Plus, it has a rubber grip with finger grooves to ensure better hold and reduced recoil.

It’s light in weight, but it can sure pack a punch. I would use this for close range target practice. Maybe even home defense. Can you use it against varmint? Maybe.

If you are looking for the perfect revolver, this might be exactly what you’re looking for.

The Ruger does make a great revolver and you might like it. If that’s not your favorite, here’s something else you’ll like. That’s…

Charter Arms Mag Pug Standard

Charter Arms Mag Pug Standard
  • Brand: Charter Arms
  • Caliber: .357 Mag
  • Magazine Capacity: 5
  • Barrel Length: 2.2″
  • Overall Length: 7.32″
  • Weight: 23 oz.

The Charter Arms Mag Pug Standard. It’s lightweight, made from a stainless steel frame and a rubber grip. You’d be hard pressed to find something this solid anywhere else on the market. It’s chambered in .357, so you are carrying a considerable amount of power in this small unit.

It’s made in the USA, which is a plus since they are known for manufacturing reliable revolvers. It has fixed sights and a ported barrel. I would use this for concealed carry, maybe varmint hunting as well. Especially when it packs such a potent punch.

If you are looking for something that will be your best friend be it out in the field or the target range, you’ll want to give this a try. A .357 magnum can do some serious damage, so let’s get that out of the way. If that’s the kind of revolver you want, you can get it at a pretty good price.

You have to love the power of the .357. But if that gets to be too much, might I suggest the following. It’s…

Smith & Wesson Airweight 38 S&W

Smith and Wesson Airweight Revolver
  • Brand: Smith & Wesson
  • Caliber: .38 Special+P
  • Magazine Capacity: 5
  • Barrel Length: 1.875″
  • Overall Length: 6.3″
  • Weight: 14.4 oz.

The Smith & Wesson Airweight 38 S&W revolver is perhaps one of the coolest looking ones I’ve seen in recent memory. It’s a J-Frame revolver with a stainless steel frame and black polymer grip.

If you are looking for a good revolver that won’t disappoint, the Smith & Wesson brand does not disappoint. I know this because I have fired many pistols and revolvers from them and I never had an issue up to this point. So if you are looking for something in terms of reliability, you have to get this one.

This is especially if you are new to firing a revolver. It’s got a five round capacity, which is good for almost any application and has an exposed hammer. You’re going to love this revolver as it’s ultra light and perfect for concealed carry.

Smith & Wesson is one of my favorite brands. There are not enough good things to say about them. So for that reason, we’ll talk about it again. This time, it’s…

Smith & Wesson M&P Bodyguard

Smith and Wesson Bodyguard
  • Brand: Smith & Wesson
  • Caliber: 38 S&W Special +P
  • Magazine Capacity: 5
  • Barrel Length: 1.9″
  • Overall Length: 6.6″
  • Weight: 14.4 oz.

The Smith & Wesson M&P Bodyguard 38 Special. Chambered in .38 special rounds, this comes with grips that will make it very easy to hold onto whenever you get a good shot off. It’s also got a cable lock for extra protection.

Furthermore, it has an ambidextrous cylinder release that can pull out left or right. It doesn’t matter how you load it, this revolver isn’t so picky in terms of that. It’s got a capacity of five rounds and a smooth trigger pull that is hard to match.

A smooth trigger pull means an easier time getting a shot off. For that reason, I highly recommend it for the purpose of home defense, even concealed carry. It’s durable, reliable, and did I mention it was a Smith & Wesson?

So that’s all with the Smith & Wesson brand. You’re probably going to love what we have for our last choice. Up next, we have…

Heritage Rough Rider

Heritage Rough Rider
  • Brand: Heritage Manufacturing
  • Caliber: .22 LR
  • Magazine Capacity: 6
  • Barrel Length: 4.75″
  • Overall Length: 10.1″
  • Weight: 1.9 lb.

The Heritage Rough Rider. It’s got that classic wild west look. If anything, you might not want to show off your inner Clint Eastwood with this thing. In fact, you can use it for target shooting and even home defense.

Unlike most of the revolvers we went over, this one isn’t great for concealed carry. Yet, what I can tell you is that it has a classic look that I love. It has a blue finish and a wooden cocobolo grip.

It’s seriously one of the most badass looking revolvers that I have seen. It’s chambered in 22 long rifle shots. If you are a fan of the .22 or its long rifle version, you will enjoy firing off this bad boy whether it’s at the range or out in the field.

That’s all we have time for today. I hope you enjoyed this list of five budget revolvers. The good news is that they are all perfect choices when it comes to finding one on a budget. They are durable, reliable, and serve many purposes.

If you are looking for a revolver that will be ideal for concealed carry, the smaller models I’ve mentioned may be a good choice for you. Otherwise, the larger revolvers may be useful for home defense, target shooting, or hunting. Either way, I hope this video helped you make the right decision. Take care and I’ll see you next time.
